A big day!

This morning I registered my baby for Kindergarten! I don't know how that's possible, since just yesterday he was a squirming, teeny newborn in my arms . . . but it happened! He was very excited to go to the school and see their cool cafeteria, and kept walking up to each new adult and asking, "Are you going to be my teacher next year?" I think he may have won a few hearts. And I definitely did not cry at all . . . nope, not one little tear--and certainly not a deluge! And no, I don't know where that little pile of tissues came from.

Today is also the day that we were told we'd hear back from the 3-Day as to whether they'd like us to move on to the next round, a phone interview. The past two weeks have been unbelievably long ones, with constant phone-checking and e-mail logins! But I still haven't heard anything. I don't think it means anything, one way or the other, but I surely do hope that they stick with this deadline so that I can avoid pulling out any more hair in anticipation. If you can spare a moment today, please think a positive thought for me--thank you!!!

Yep, THAT kind!

Today I am having one of those days . . . you know the kind.

Where you go for your run and no matter what you do, your socks keep getting sucked down into your running shoes?

Where you forget it's Super Bowl Sunday, and head off to do your weekly grocery shopping, happy and unsuspecting?

Where you return home from said shopping trip and promptly drop the dozen eggs (the organic, cage-free, scadzillion dollar kind, of course) you've purchased onto the floor? (I am happy to report that seven out of twelve survived the fall--pretty good! And no, this is not the first time this has happened . . .)

I shall now attempt to go shower without drowning. Pray for me!

The virtue of patience . . .

. . . is one I sorely lack. I know--you're shocked. But it's true: I am not good at waiting for things. And, since submitting my audition for the 3-Day National Spokesperson, WAITING is what I have been doing. I should know something by February 8th (or was it ON February 8th??) . . . but either way, sitting here biting my nails and checking my e-mail 8 times a minute is certainly not productive or helpful in any way. *Sigh*

So I will continue to wait, and hopefully start to learn the virtue that is patience. *crickets chirping*

Okay, I have to go check my e-mail . . . again!
